Explore Zürich’s quieter streets — from Viadukt to Niederdorf — and discover cozy cafés, second-hand bookstores, and design shops. Take a slow afternoon to explore Zürich beyond the main shopping streets — a self-guided “urban adventure” through the city’s quieter corners filled with vintage bookstores, creative cafés, and artistic vibes.

Start near Niederdorf, wander through the cobblestone alleys of the Old Town, then move toward the industrial-chic area of Zürich-West (near Viadukt). In each stop, pair a local coffee spot with an independent bookstore or creative studio nearby.

Zürich Freitag Tower + Frau Gerolds Garten

Freitag is one of the most famous bag brands in Switzerland. And its store is designed in a very unique way. You can first go to pick your favourite Freitag bags and then climb the Freitag flagship tower built from 19 stacked shipping containers for a rooftop view over tracks and towers; then stroll 2 minutes to Frau Gerolds Garten, an urban garden that’s a breezy beer garden in summer and a cozy fondue spot with winter huts in colder months.
